Small Business Survival Skills

Small Business ClosingHow are small businesses fairing during this economic downturn? What are the biggest challenges they’re facing and what are they doing about them? Listen to a recording of today’s Kojo Namdi Show to find out.

The program features two local business owners, one of whom is the owner of the ever-popular St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub, a personal favorite! Also present were representatives of the American Small Business League, which fights for the “removal of Fortune 500 firms, their subsidiaries and other clearly large corporations from federal small business contracting programs,” and the Latino Economic Development Corporation, who’s mission is “to improve the wealth-building capacity of low- and moderate-income Latinos and other underserved communities in the Washington area.” The panel and callers to the show shared their experiences about how they and those they know are being impacted, what they think the government response should be (given that small businesses make up more than 80% of businesses) and shared tips and lessons learned.

What are you doing as an Enterprising Mom to survive these though economic times?
